Manager of The Allman Brothers Band Steve Massarsky heard the tape and liked Lauper’s voice so he decided go invest into it amd bought Blue Angel’s contract for an amount worth $5,000 and became their manager.

Unfortunately, The group couldn’t last that long and they ended up going solo after the group members agreed to break up and go their Separate ways.

Fast Forward On October 14, 1983, Lauper released her first solo album titled She’s So Unusual. The album became a worldwide hit, peaking at No. 4 in the U.S. and reaching the top five in eight other countries.
