His annual salary has been pegged at $660,000. Hinton signed as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos on April 26, 2020.
On September 5, 2020, he was waived, but a month later re-signed with their practice squad. Due to COVID-19 pandemic protocols, all four Broncos quarterbacks were ruled ineligible to compete in a Week 12 game in late November 2020.
Hinton was promoted to the active roster as the team’s backup quarterback.
The quarterback is worth $1 million currently.
Hinton became the first non-quarterback to play substantial snaps at quarterback in an NFL game since Baltimore Colts running back Tom Matte in 1965.
As the Denver Broncos fell to the Seattle Seahawks, he completed only one of nine passes and threw two interceptions.
Following the game, Hinton was demoted to the practice squad and signed a new deal with the organization on January 4, 2021.
