Queen Camilla Shared Update on King Charles Amid Cancer Diagnosis

Yesterday, Prince William stepped in for King Charles at an investiture ceremony. Today, it was Queen Camilla's opportunity to return to her royal duties. During a charity event today at Salisbury Cathedral, the queen shared a message to royal fans wondering how the king is doing. The Daily Mail's royal expert, Rebecca English, shared the news on X.

"He is doing extremely well under the circumstances. We are very touched by all of the letters and messages," Camilla said, according to English. Today's outing marked Camilla's first public appearance since the king was diagnosed with cancer earlier this week. Though Buckingham Palace shared the news of the king's cancer, it didn't share exactly what kind of cancer he has.

Camila has been by the monarch's side throughout his recent medical issues. She joined him at London Clinic following his treatment for an enlarged prostate and, later, she was seen accompanying him to Sandringham via helicopter. The king's trip to his country estate in Norfolk came after he met with his son, Harry, for a quick 45-minute chat. Insiders noted that while father and son had a great conversation, Harry didn't have time to meet with his brother, William.

The two have been embroiled in major tension since Harry decamped from the royal family and released his memoir, Spare, though that might not the only reason why the two didn't have the chance for a tête-à-tête. Kate Middleton, William's wife, underwent abdominal surgery last month and sources close to the Cambridges say that he's helping her around the house as she recovers by taking on duties like bringing their children to school in addition to his royal appointments.
